Boy Meets World is not just another TV show. It is so much more than that. It is your childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. You grew up wishing you had a best friend like Shawn. In high school, you wish you could have a relationship like Cory and Topanga. The episodes weren’t all about friendship and love, but about life lessons, growing up and figuring shit out. But it wasn’t always sentimental either, Boy Meets World had plenty of hilarious moments, especially with Eric Matthews. Sometimes I find myself watching YouTube videos of various Boy Meets World clips, and laughing my ass off in the process. I hope you enjoy this list that I have compiled. 30. Bee True Season 6

George Feeny and Dean Bolander finally kiss in this epic episode. Cory and Shawn, who host a bake sale at Pennbrook (for some strange reason) are approached by Eric Matthews to help Feeny win over Dean Bolander after her ex-husband returns to Pennbrook. At the end of the episode, Mr. Feeny proves his love for the Dean by removing a bee from the Dean’s neck, only to get stung by the rare bee.

Best line: Cory: I hold in my hands the pinnacle of God’s creation. Think fast!

29. Boy Meets Girl Season 1

Only two episodes from Season 1 made this competitive list. Shawn and Cory watch the classic puberty video in class. Much to Shawn’s pleasure, he finds himself on a date with a young lady. Wanting to fit in, Cory asks Topanga out, but Mr. and Mrs. Matthews find out that Cory is only asking Topanga out for a selfish reason, forcing him to cancel it.

Best line: Cory: Beautiful? I’ve seen hormones turn a normal guy’s face into Craters ‘R Us.

28. What I Meant To Say  Season 3

Cory tells Topanga he loves her… two episodes after they begin dating. One of my favorite scenes took place during this episode… you can watch that scene here. Topanga breaks up with Cory, but at the end they make up.

Best line: Cory: I went too far with Topanga.

27. My Best Friend’s Girl Season 3

The episode that began the Cory and Topanga as we know them. In the Season 3 premiere, Topanga has matured , which prompts Cory to ask her out. But Shawn beats Cory to it, which pushes Cory and Shawn’s friendship to an uncharted territory. Cory then fights for Topanga, only to find out that Shawn asked Topanga out to help Cory out. Topanga and Cory kiss to end the episode

Best lines: Eric: My grades aren’t good enough to get me into college?

Feeny: Your grades, my friend, aren’t good enough to get you a slurpee.

26. This Little Piggy Season 3

Shawn finds a pig in his trailer park, and figures it would be a good idea to keep the pig. He, like the pig, doesn’t have a consistent home, so Shawn feels compelled to keep it. Topanga, though, wants Shawn to provide it a more stable home at the zoo. This is a great episode that depicts Shawn’s sense of abandonment. Also, Eric tries to win over Feeny’s approval by taking him to the opera.

Best line: Eric: All right, look, Mr. Feeny, I have a question that I’m going to need a yes or no answer to: how many people get into Yale every year?

Feeny: No.

25. He Said, She Said Season 3

Shawn, who is living with Mr. Turner, skips school a couple times. So, Mr. Turner forces Shawn to see the guidance counselor. The guidance counselor told Shawn about how she found herself in Europe. So Shawn tells Cory he is leaving for Europe. But instead, Shawn goes to a bus station that’ll take him to Paris, TX.

Best line: Shawn: Yeah, my dad always talked about the three B’s: babes, bucks and brewskies.

24. Career Day Season 2

For career day, Alan Matthews talks about his “thrilling” life as a grocer. But other parents have much cooler jobs than Mr. Matthews, causing Alan to look at his life. Later in the episode, Mr. Matthews realizes how important is actual job is… fathering his three children.

Best line: Eric: It’s like I’m in S.A.T. Zone. All my other senses are completely shut down.

23. Heartbreak Cory Season 5

Cory and his senior class at John Adams High go on a skiing trip. But Cory falls off the bus before they ski. Since Cory is hurt, he spends all day in the lobby where he meets an attractive worker named Lauren. Lauren and Cory talk all day, and then all night after Topanga, Shawn and Angela go to sleep. Lauren and Cory kiss, and then Cory lies to Topanga. Lauren writes a passionate love letter that Topanga finds and eventually reads in a later episode.

Best lines: Lauren: Those slopes are treacherous.

Feeny: He fell getting off the bus.

Lauren: Those buses are treacherous.

22. Learning To Fly Season 4

Eric finally realizes he wants to go to Pennbrook after visiting Beach State. Also, Cory and Topanga’s relationship is put to the test. I’m guessing Beach State is similar to Florida Gulf Coast… Sounds like a great time.

Best lines: Cory: I do have a girlfriend, you know. Her name is Topanga.

Mary Beth: Topanga? Sounds like a freeway exit.

21. Easy Street Season 4

Right before Christmas, Mr. Turner assigns his class a journal about how the decisions you make change your life. Cory gets a job at a restaurant that turns out to be controlled by the Mafia. Knowing that it is wrong, Cory quits. But Shawn picks up Cory’s job. Another excellent episode with a great lesson.

Best line: Shawn: So I show up this morning and the wind chill factor is, like, Jupiter.

20. Wake Up, Little Cory Season 2

Cory and Topanga do a video assignment for Mr. Turner’s class about sex. They interview a bunch of friends and family, and find some great information. As they edit the video at school, they fall asleep next to each other. A rumor goes around that Cory and Topanga had sex, which makes Cory a legend. Cory, fearful of rejection, doesn’t deny the rumors, which deeply upsets Topanga. Cory, though, makes everything OK in the end.

Best lines: Topanga: You know what I want? I want my good name back.

Cory: Well, some people might argue that Topanga isn’t the best name to begin with.

19. Security Guy Season 4

Eric, who works with his father at Alan’s store, is fired because of his terrible “TV Bear” financial decision. Eric then becomes a security guard at the high school. Shawn, Cory and Topanga study for the SATs, which created a great Boy Meets World moment in this clip. Eric, fed up with his life (I guess there wasn’t community college in the 1990s because Eric could have went there if he didn’t do well on his SATs) decides to retake the SATs.

Best lines: Eric: Mr. Feeny.

Feeny: What?

Eric: I heard you telling my parents you thought I was smart. Just hearing you say that is worth 1000 SAT points.

18. Prom-ises, Prom-ises Season 5

It is prom night. And Cory & Topanga might want to have sex. They get a hotel room (I wish my high school went to a hotel for prom) but oddly enough Mr. and Mrs. Matthews have a hotel room in the same hallway! This causes confusion. Cory finds out that his parents are pregnant, which makes him reconsider his decision to lose his virginity.

Best lines: Alan: We’re having a baby!

Eric: I’m going to be an uncle?

17. The Fugitive Season 1

The second and last episode from Season 1 that makes this list is when Shawn blows up the mailbox and hides in Cory’s room in fear of the police, his parents and teachers. This episode truly demonstrates the greatest friendship of all time, and the greatest handshake also. Cory is always a loyal friend to Shawn, and Shawn realizes how important Cory is to him. This is an awesome Boy Meets World moment.

Best lines: Eric: I know what you’re hiding.

Cory: You do?

Eric: Yup. I tried the same thing when I was your age. The noises, the food sneaking, the look on your face at dinner… YOU’RE HIDING A PUPPY!

16. Better Than Average Cory Season 6

Cory meets this art prodigy and begins to feel like he is a failure. He blames his father for being “average.” To make it up to his father, Cory sings a song that can be viewed here. Also, this episode  has the best picture moment in BMW history.

Best lines: Cory: I found a penny!

15. It’s About Time Season 7

Cory and Topanga get married, but not without conflict. Shawn knows that it’ll never be Cory and Shawn again. Eric decides to save the wedding by arranging it at an upscale hotel under the name of Peterman.

Best line: Shawn: We’ve had to deal with life, death, and Feeny.

14. Home Season 2

Shawn moves in with the Matthews, but he doesn’t feel like he belongs. He ends up at Mr. Turner’s apartment, which is where he ends up staying. Mr. Turner becomes a father figure for Shawn.

Best lines: Turner: Now, see: why can’t you be this sharp in my class?

Shawn: Math’s not my best subject.

Turner: I’m your English teacher.

Shawn: Then why you teaching math?

Turner: Are you kidding me?

13. Brave New World Season 7… the Finale

This two-part episode relives every wonderful Boy Meets World moment. It doesn’t really need any explanation.

Best lines: Cory: Why does everyone always take Topanga’s side?!

Eric: Boobies. (Part 1)

Shawn (quoting his dad): Money doesn’t make you rich, life makes you rich. (Part 2)

12. The Happiest Show On Earth Season 3

Three months after they break up, Cory realizes how much he misses Topanga. When Topanga wins a trip to Disney World, Cory and Shawn fly down so Cory can tell her how he feels.

Best line: Cory: So, Amber (the dolphin), you’re separated from your mate, huh? I know how you feel. Not that Topanga’s my mate or anything, I just believe she is. It’s funny, though. People tell you to get on with your life, go date, there’s plenty of other fish in the sea. Like I need to tell you! See, we know that once we’ve met that special person, it’s hard to live knowing they’re out there, and they’re the only one you care about. All those things I did, I wasn’t trying to impress her, I just didn’t know how to express my feelings. Well, at least I tried, huh? And now I’m talking to a fish. See ya, Amber.

11. The Eskimo Season 5

During their senior year, Cory and Shawn feel like they have learned everything they need, but Feeny proves that you are never done learning, no matter how much you know. Shawn does the impossible.

Best lines: Shawn: I got four can’t-miss ways on how to get Superbowl tickets.

Cory: Okay, give me the best one.

Shawn: I go back in time to the first Superbowl when tickets weren’t that hard to get.

Cory: Good. Good. Very good. I don’t need to hear the other three.

10. Road Trip Season 6

After Chet dies, Shawn takes Cory on a journey to find himself. The whole plan was to say good-bye to Cory. Shawn and Cory say good-bye at a truck stop that Chet frequently went to.

Best lines: Shawn: I hate to have to tell you this, but, my dad died last week.

Merle: So, who shot him?

8. They’re Killing Us Season 7

Cory and Topanga express their displeasure with their family and friends as they prepare for the wedding. Shawn wins Cory’s best man contest because Eric sets everything on fire.

Best line: Cory: It’s like riding a pogo stick in a minefield. Boom! Boing. Boom! Boing…

7. The War Season 7

One of the more known episodes in Boy Meets World history. A prank war emerges that pins the life timers (Shawn, Cory and Topanga) verses the new comers (Jack, Angela and Rachel.) Eric, who no one wants, predicts how ugly this will turn out, which leads for an excellent follow up episode.

Best lines: Eric: You know, Jack, I’m having trouble opening this jar.

Jack: That’s because it’s a can.

6. If You Can’t Be With The One You Love Season 5

The first time you get drunk with your best friend is a great time. Cory, who is heartbroken after Topanga dumps him, drinks whiskey before a party. He and Shawn finish this whiskey in the bathroom, and then end up getting arrested after peeing on a cop car. This episode then grows deeper as Mr. Matthews blames Shawn’s influence on Cory to why they both drank and then Shawn begins to drink heavily, and even harms Angela.

Best lines: Shawn: Dad used to drink and then he stopped.

Jack: Do you know why he stopped drinking?

Shawn: Because he ran out of money?

Jack: Do you know why my mom left him?

Shawn: Because she went for a guy with more money?

5. Shallow Boy Season 4

Eric dates this strange, but highly optimistic singer who sits outside the Matthews’ family story. But after Eric breaks up with her, she performs a song called “Shallow Boy” that becomes more popular than Call Me Maybe. Check out the song here. Also, Cory and Topanga babysit, but Topanga doesn’t like how Cory acts with the kids.

Best lines: Cory: I think this is the opposite of funny. I think it’s…wood.

4. Breaking Up Is Really, Really Hard To Do Season 2

Cory asks Wendy to be his girlfriend, but only for a birthday party. Wendy becomes obsessed with Cory, even asking him what he is doing next summer (which, according to Shawn Hunter, is off limits) . She buys him socks, and at first Cory wants to break up with her, but then he has a change of heart. They ultimately break up because Cory only asked her to be his girlfriend cause he needed a date. Here is a clip of old Shawn and Cory. Great scene… one of the reasons why this episode is so high.

Best line: Cory: They want you to take the rolls

3. Seven The Hard Way Season 7

Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself

Eric, who becomes Plays With Squirrels,  shares that important message with Jack, Rachel, Angela, Cory, Shawn and Topanga. Because of Eric’s persistence, the friends become friends again.

Best line: Eric: My name is Plays With Squirrels.

2. We’ll Have A Good Time Then Season 6

This episode will move you to tears. Chet Hunter dies.

Best line: Chet: [to Rachel] I’ve been to three county fairs, two pig-stickin’s and a goat rope, but I ain’t never seen nothin’ like you.

1. And Then There Was Shawn Season 5

A pencil kills Kenny. A pile of books kills Jennifer Love Hewitt. You find out that Eric, Jack and Feeny are not virgins.

Best line: Feeny: We’ll return to The Young and the Restless right after this word from Feeny. And the word is Shut up.
